Reducing our environmental impact
In addition to our efforts to advance the global climate action
agenda and educate investors about the management of
environmental risks in their portfolio, we are committed to
reducing our own environmental impact as much as possible.
We are taking steps to cut our carbon footprint by employing the
most advanced building technology in our Geneva headquarters,
reviewing every aspect of our operations, and reducing the
environmental impacts of our infrastructure and employee
mobility.
In 2018, beehives were installed on the rooftop of our Geneva
headquarters. Employees look after the hives, harvest honey
and learn the basics of beekeeping. By promoting this
initiative and marketing the honey throughout the company, we
raise staff awareness of the decline in bee populations and
threats to biodiversity.
Actively engaging with our employees, communities and the broader
society
With our initiatives, we aim to stimulate action on
environmental and social issues to make a long-lasting
impact.
A long tradition of philanthropy
As the planet is endangered and globalisation increasingly shows
its detrimental side effects, we must be a force for good for
our communities and for future generations. The Pictet Group
Foundation continues the tradition of philanthropic work
undertaken by Pictet’s partners in the fields of medical
research, culture, social and humanitarian causes. Efforts will
intensify in future, in particular to help mitigate social
challenges and protect the environment.
As a firm, we are open-minded and open to all. We want to create
a culture that enables our employees to develop and reach their
potential. We have taken steps to create a diverse and inclusive
workforce and have set up partnerships with organisations that
allow employees to balance their personal and professional
lives, encourage participation in charitable engagement, and
make a difference in the fields of socio-economic mobility,
minority representation and gender diversity.
In 2008 the partners of the Pictet Group created the Prix Pictet
prize to draw worldwide attention to and stimulate action on
issues of sustainability through the medium of photography.
Since foundation, the Prix Pictet has focused on environmental
themes beginning with Water, followed by
Earth, Growth, Power, Consumption, Disorder, Space, Hope
and Fire.
